Water

We all have heard it before: you have to drink more/enough water! The guideline is to drink 2 liters of water every day. But sodas don’t count. Sodas contain a lot of sugar, chemicals, and acids, which are very unhealthy. Drinking enough water gives you more energy and helps your organs to function best. It helps the blood flow, which remove toxins from your body. When you don’t drink enough water, you can experience symptoms like headaches, fatigue, blood clotting, and kidney stones. Your immune system also functions less well which raises the chance of getting infections. So it’s very important to drink enough water every day! Next time a round of water instead of coffee?

 

Yawning

Yawning can be caused by a couple of different things. Reasons are, for example, not enough sleep, hunger, or boredom. But did you know that yawning also has a lot of useful traits? Yawning helps for a faster oxygen supply towards your brain. This causes your brain activity but also your metabolism to be optimized, which then again will help you be more alert and have a betterĀ concentration.

When you’re dealing with stress it can help to start yawning or to consciously try to yawn a couple of times. It helps to reduce stress and helps your body to relax as well.

 

Sleeping

Enough sleep is important to have enough rest, especially for your brain. While you sleep your brain rejuvenates and the connections between brain cells become stronger. If this doesn’t happen, our knowledge will reduce, together with more negative effects. Every form of stress can disrupt your night’s rest. The littlest bit of tension, like driving your car which causes you to be more exhausted, can have an influence on your night’s rest. So it’s important to have as less stress as possible, to make sure you get enough rest while you sleep!

Besides drinking enough water, yawning once a while and having enough sleep and rest, there are of course also other important things that you can do to improve your lifestyle, like enough exercise and a healthy diet.
